Ahh, another night in a bed. Again, I slept for quite a while and found pushing my body out of bed difficult. I'm not sure why I find it much easier to get out of bed when I'm sleeping in the tent, but I actually enjoy the morning more in the tent than in a bed. These bed mornings cover me with a lethargy that I'm not fond of. But, I tried as quickly as possible to shake myself from it's grasp and greet the morning. It was actually a bit easier this morning because I knew I'd see my sister's shining face! And it certainly was. Somehow my sisters smile and laugh are things that just make me feel like it's all okay - very nice.
For breakfast, Seish quickly through together some egg roll, very delicious even though we used chardonnay instead of sake. After the egg roll primer we decided to make french toast with the carton of eggs we bought in San Fran. We all had a great time indulging in syrup, fruit, jam, and fresh whip-cream covered french toast. Good job cooks! I was downloading photos during the creation and gave Arielle and Shaun a quick slideshow of 666 photos! I think this finally clears the bad rap that this number has. Nothing evil happened that morning and there wasn't a hint of evil in the photos. I think everybody can give that poor little number a rest.
After licking our lips a few times to savor the indulgence lingering in our mouths we cleaned up and got on the road. Naturally, no matter how many times we did a sweep, we left a couple things. Arielle called after about 20 min on the road informing us that Seish left his hat, and I left something too. But it turned out to be a fare trade because I accidentally took her hoody and disposable camera - whoops!
The drive was uneventful and smooth. In Olympia, we gave ourselves a little tour of the capital building. It's a really nice, full marble building with the state senate and congress halls. Aside from a few important looking people, it was pretty empty. I was excited to see how nice of bathroom there was there, but by appearances it was a major let down. Not even marble on the walls. However, it did have the most comfortable toilet seat I've ever sat on. It cradled my bum like a hand tenderly holding a ripe peach. I wondered if anybody would notice if I walked out of there with it...
It was a tuesday night, and my mother was at choir practice in seattle, so Dwight was holding down the fort when we arrived. We quickly dropped our bags and cruised down to dinner at a pretty nice Mexican restaurant called Fiesta Jalisco. It gets a rating of 7 out of 10. Not too shabby. I naturally fell into the classic Mexican restaurant blunder - gorging myself on the free chips and salsa so that when our main course comes my tongues is too sensitive to properly enjoy the hot food and my belly too full to eat it all. But desperately wanting to enjoy all the food on my plate, I totally overate. Despite repeating this folly again, I did enjoy it, and I very much enjoyed Seish and Dwight getting to know each other.
Seish and I enjoyed extras of a house and watched a little SNL comedy tape before going to bed. I tried staying up for my mother's return but was too sleepy. Seish was able to stay up by writing a few journal entries and was able to meet my mother.
